Many prayers for Texas!
Many prayers are going out for Texans involved in the flooding and aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. One of the most amazing live press releases I watched today . . . the police chief of Houston, emotionally reporting on the recovery mission and death of a well-loved fellow officer who got caught in the flooding on his way to report to work. What a tragedy to have to report, but at the same time, he gave the news with great hope, right there on live tv (thank you Jesus for live tv during these times). The officer was a believer in Jesus Christ as his Savior, which is of great comfort to his wife and all those who knew him. The police chief asked this man's now-widow, (my paraphrase) "if this was his day to go, wouldn't he have wanted to go while doing service to his community instead of any other way?", and her answer was "yes." We can have comfort in the knowledge that those who are believers in Jesus as their only Savior, will be in immediate Paradise. As sad as we are to lose them from our presence here, we know they are now spending eternity with our Lord Jesus and we can do the same! Praise the Lord! Don't wait until it's too late.
Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. ~2 Cor. 5:8
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. ~Romans 6:23
